My Daniel Prayer

My Daniel Prayer

Lord Forgive Us

  • Forgive us for our selfishness. We have kept You for ourselves.
  • Forgives us for our fears. We have kept quiet about You.
  • Forgives us for our self-centerdness. We have believed the lie that we are better because we are saved and that You hate those still in sin. The lie that we can therefore hate and disdain them, too.
  • Forgives us for our haughtiness. We have cheapened Your grace and made it an excuse for disobedience.
  • Forgives us for our unbelief – which is sin. We embrace fears, doubts, desires, and lusts as insurmountable realities. We embrace failures, sickness, wars, crimes, and physical, emotional, and spiritual death as logical realities.
  • Forgives us for our complacency. We are okay with being “in” while much of the world is “out.”
  • Forgives us for our apathy. We cannot fathom that Your power manifested can actually solve the problems of humanity.
  • Forgives us for our self-reliance. What little faith and hope we have, we put in ourselves, business, government, and education.
  • Forgives us for our disobedience. We know Your call on our lives.
  • Forgives us for our self-doubts. We believe it’s up to us – that we have to “feel it” and that it is ours to do alone.
  • Forgives us for our independence. We believe we control our work, shelter, food, and breath.
  • Forgives us for our abdication. We are okay with doing less than You’ve asked.
  • Forgives us for our self-acceptance. We are okay with remaining broken and unwell.
  • Forgives us for our tolerance. We are okay with injustice.
  • Forgives us for our hatred. We justify our decisions not to love.

Forgive us Lord and teach us, reteach us, Your ways. Teach us Your Throne Room, “It is Finished!”, perspective on life on this planet. Pour out Your Spirit to awaken us to “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Forgive us Lord. Heal us Lord. Empower us Lord.

A Second Study Guide

In Trusting God Through Testing Times, a Journey through James, Job and The Thessalonians, Jill has yet again written a thorough and easy to follow guide to the Scriptures. This time she shows us how each of these books give a foundation for dealing with life’s trials and tests:

  • James gives us practical advice for spiritual maturity.
  • Job offers an incredible example of God’s sovereignty.
  • Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians provide practical action steps for during times of persecution.

In addition to historical background and application, the book also contains personal stories and insights.

Help Spread God’s Word

By sharing your copy of the book on Social Media, you’ll help others benefit from God’s council, encouragement, and purpose. And you might just win the prize, too!

Here are the rules:

  • Post a photo of you and your copy of Trusting God Through Testing Times between now and January 6th, 2018
  • The photo doesn’t have to include your face – that’s up to you – but it does have to be an obviously homemade pic. Be creative!
  • Photos can appear on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter – or all three!
  • Use the hashtags #jillgrossman and #testingtimes so we can find your photos and officially enter you in the contest
  • Mention both Jill Grossman and the book’s title, Trusting God Through Testing Times, in the accompanying caption.
  • Any kind and supportive words you’re led to include in the caption would be most appreciated, too!

That’s it! We’ll search the internet every day and gather every eligible entry. The winner will be contacted and announced after January 6th so we can mail out the prizes.

Why Did God Create You?

Wouldn’t it be great to know why God created you? What would change if you did know?

In this message, we discuss David’s actions in 1 Samuel 23:7-13 and the fact that he failed to ask God an important question.
